Forest Management Plan Development

Spray Lake Sawmills is in the process of renewing the company’s Forest Management Plan. This is a strategic level plan that guides forest management for the next ten years. The plan covers when, where and how sustainable forest management is to be undertaken within the forest reserve for Spray Lake Sawmills’ Forest Management Agreement area which starts west of Sundre in the southern east slopes and extends down to the bottom end of K-Country.

The first step in the process is to develop a listing of values and objectives which will be used as the foundation for the rest of the plans development.

We would like to invite any interested parties to come join us for an evening to review the planning process and help provide us with some of your thoughts on Values & Objectives to be used as part of the plan.

The workshop is planned for October 28, 2015, 6:30 – 9:30 PM and will be held in Cochrane. All interested parties are welcome although attendance will be limited to the first 40 registrants, on a first come first served basis. Further details and a brief backgrounder will be emailed out to registrants in advance of the meeting to help prepare you for the evening’s activities.
